IJA Services is a plumbing and heating company with a team able to look after your property's heating properly, whether that means a gas boiler or a heat pump.
We're Gas Safe registered and MCS certified, members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, and approved installers for both Baxi and Vaillant - a combination that's less common among small local firms than you might expect, and one that shapes how we work.
We work across Worcestershire from our base in Droitwich Spa, covering everything from boiler installation and repair to air source heat pump design, underfloor heating, unvented hot water cylinders, gas safety certification and general plumbing. Our customers range from homeowners replacing a boiler that's finally given up, to landlords keeping certification current across a portfolio, to businesses on scheduled maintenance contracts.
We're deliberately a small team. That means you'll deal with the same people from the first phone call through to the final commissioning, and the person who quotes the job is usually the person who turns up to do it. It also means we take on work we can do properly rather than everything that comes through the door.
Most heating firms sit on one side of a line. Gas specialists will fit you an excellent boiler but can't advise properly on heat pumps; renewables installers have often stepped away from gas work entirely. That's fine right up until you're the one trying to decide between them.
We hold Gas Safe registration and MCS certification, so we can install and service either. In practice that means when you ask us whether to replace the boiler or switch to a heat pump, the answer comes from looking at your property - its insulation, its radiators, its available space and your budget... rather than from what we happen to be set up to sell.
Accreditation isn't just paperwork - most of these determine what we're legally allowed to do and what warranties you're entitled to. Every number below can be checked independently.
Legally required for anyone working on gas appliances in the UK. Our registration covers boiler installation, servicing, repair and gas safety certification - on LPG as well as mains natural gas, which is a separate qualification that not every engineer holds. It matters in Worcestershire, where a good deal of the county is off the gas grid. Every gas installation we carry out is notified to Gas Safe.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the standard for renewable installations. It's also the gatekeeper for the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant - a heat pump installation only qualifies if it's carried out by an MCS certified installer. Link: verify on the MCS installer directory
The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering is the industry's professional body. Membership requires demonstrated competence and a commitment to a code of conduct, and it's less common among small local firms than you might expect.
Manufacturer approval means we've completed their training and meet their installation standards. For you it means extended warranties - considerably longer than the standard manufacturer guarantee - and direct manufacturer backing behind the work.
Droitwich Spa sits roughly in the middle of Worcestershire, which is a large part of why we're based here. Worcester is fifteen minutes away, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster not much further, and Redditch, Malvern and Pershore are all comfortable runs. Our engineers are out across the county every day rather than working out of an office - close enough to most of Worcestershire to get there quickly, and close enough to come back if you need us again.
